A. SLR670α combines the advantages of SX-70 and SLR680. We used the body of SX-70 and took part of the electronics of SLR680. That's why it is called SLR670α. SLR670m, "m" stands for manual. SLR670m allows you to adjust the shutter speed manually like magic. The revolutionary SLR670 series is newly invented by MiNT.
A. 670α is an automatic camera with advance shutter and brightness control. 670m is a manual camera that allows you to control the shutter speed with the help with an external gadget called Time Machine. Both have their pros and cons, but both are better than the original Polaroid SX-70.
A. Both of them are compatible with ISO100 and ISO600 film. 670α offers the diversity because of its sensitivity towards different lighting condition, simply adjust the L/D dial to use different films without additional accessories. 670m requires you to manually adjust the shutter speed on the Time Machine according to your shooting environment to go with different ISO film.
A.The choice between 670α and 670m is like choosing between an auto and a manual car, it all depends on your personal style. If you want a easy and friendly camera, 670α is your choice; if you want flexibility and are willing to experiment, 670m is for you.
A. Time Machine is only compatible with 670m. Because we re-designed the motherboard of the camera to make the communication between them possible, it will not work on any camera other than 670m.
A. It works like an ordinary SX-70. You can use ISO100 film directly, or add an ND filter to use ISO600 film.
A. Yes, MiNT Flash Bar 2 is fully compatible with 670α and 670m.
A. That's not possible. In regular SX70, the flash sockets are just connectors to trigger the flash using a simple signal. We had to redesign the whole SX70 motherboard to make the flash socket work as a "port" to send more complex signals. So that's why the Time Machine can only communicate with 670m.
A. We don't provide this service normally. However, contact us if you have a special reason. We converted a gold SX-70 into a 670m, which was pretty awesome.
A. 670α and 670m are improved versions of SX70. You can shoot better pictures on 670α and 670m because of the electronics modifications that we made to every camera one by one.
A. No, the motherboard design and components of SX-70 is old and not able to connect to Time Machine.
A. The maximum shutter speed of SX-70 is 14 seconds. Some users find it difficult to capture long exposure photos. From now on, you can choose B and T mode on Time Machine with 670m. B mode allows you to keep the shutter open as long as you keep the button depressed. T mode can let you press the button once to open the shutter and again to close it. So the maximum shutter speed of 670m is infinity. You can even take pictures of stars or lightning at night. Every 670α and 670m has a tripod hole at the bottom.
A. The SX-70 motherboard is more than 40 years old. We re-designed it to make it more reliable and to provide a port of communication for Time Machine. You won't be experiencing electronic flaws in 670m due to old age anymore. Although we do everything we can to prevent these flaws in our factory restored SX-70s, anything can go wrong with old electronic parts. 670m motherboard is totally new and is more reliable.
